Job Duties
The incumbent of this position will review Direct Pay NMPs and NM-1a plans for consistency with regulations and make recommendations for any needed changes to Plans. They will work closely with private sector Plan Writers to improve quality of plans and work closely with private sector Plan Writers to accurately track and report plans. They will promote and facilitate use of the Nutrient Management Module by private sector Plan Writers. They will work to support the nutrient management direct pay program and perform outreach and promotion. They will participate as needed in appropriate workgroups.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience with and/or knowledge of agricultural production practices, nutrient management, and agricultural land-use issues.
- Experience planning effectively and performing duties with minimum supervision.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with diverse groups of people from varying economic/educational situations.
- Experience reporting data and completing written reports.
- Knowledge of and proficiency in using MS Office suite for word processing and creating presentations, compiling data to create and maintain spreadsheets and data databases, and/or knowledge/use of other relevant software.
Additional Considerations
- Experience as a Certified Nutrient Management Planner, developing Nutrient Management Plans written to meet Virginia Nutrient Management Training and Certification regulations (or equivalent within service area).
