Job Duties
This position is responsible for patient care that includes admission, physical examination, diagnosis and initial general medical treatment of adult and geriatric patients. Monitors and manages acute and chronic medical conditions and is an ancillary member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. Ensures medical record compliance with regard to state, federal regulations, JC Standards and other accrediting bodies or agencies. Ensures medical record documentation compliance and appropriate completion of documentation to support reimbursement activities for medical coding and billing practices. Serves as an on-call physician when scheduled and as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Current, Virginia license to practice Medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Current DEA registration.
Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy and completion of an accredited / approved Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program.
Available to serve as an on-call physician when scheduled.
Additional Considerations
Board Certification in Internal Medicine.
Experience with an acute, adult inpatient psychiatric population.
