Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles is hiring for a Web Content Specialist for a position within its IT Services department at our headquarters location in Richmond, VA.

The Web Content Specialist manages and develops content for DMV’s public website, DMV intranet, and other digital platforms. The role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure content aligns with design and compliance standards, including ADA and WCAG guidelines. This position requires a focus on ensuring website functionality, accessibility, and usability to meet both agency and public needs.

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, serves approximately 6.2 million licensed drivers and ID card holders with over 8.4 million registered vehicles. Minimum Qualifications

• Strong technical writing skills with the ability to translate complex subjects into easily readable content.
• Strong knowledge of web design principles and usability standards
• Experience addressing web compliance issues, ensuring adherence to ADA and WCAG standards.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, and content management systems.
• Experience managing digital content across websites or intranet platforms, ensuring alignment with business needs.
• Experience leading web content design projects from planning through execution, coordinating with cross-functional
  teams.

Additional Considerations

• Experience analyzing usability data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Proficiency with content audits and web analytics tools for monitoring site performance.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies to track milestones and document progress.
