Job Duties
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and engaging Memory Care Activities Assistant who is a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team in the Memory Care Neighborhood at Jones & Cabacoy Veteran Care Center. This role is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our Veterans living with memory loss by providing meaningful engagement, emotional support, and structured daily activities.
Schedule: M-F 2:00pm-10:00pm including availability for weekends/holidays as needed.
Key Responsibilities
·Facilitate and lead daily activities tailored to memory care residents (games, music, sensory activities, small group programs, etc.)
·Provide one-on-one engagement and companionship to residents
·Assist with daily routines and support a calm, structured environment
·Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to meet resident needs
·Escort residents to and from activities and appointments as needed
·Help create a safe, welcoming, and therapeutic environment
·Document participation and resident responses to activities

Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications
· Current licensed Certified Nursing Assistant
· Experience with music therapy, art, crafts, or movement‑based activities.
· Familiarity with dementia behaviors, redirection techniques, and safety protocols.
· Experience working with seniors, especially in memory care or dementia support is a plus.
· Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
· Compassion for and commitment to serving our Veteran population
· Ability to work as part of a team and independently
· Flexible and reliable, including availability for weekends/holidays as needed.
