Job Duties

The Transportation Scheduling Team Lead provides advanced coordination, operational leadership, and system-wide alignment of inmate transportation scheduling across the Department of Corrections.

This role ensures transportation activities are strategically aligned, resource-efficient, and responsive to competing institutional priorities. As the operational lead for centralized scheduling coordination, the position serves as the primary link between regional operations and central oversight. Responsible for translating strategic objectives into execution, the Team Lead guides scheduling practices, fosters cross-regional collaboration, and drives continuous process improvement.

The work demands a high degree of judgment, coordination, and analytical skill to balance public safety requirements, staffing limitations, and operational needs. The position enhances public safety and operational efficiency by partnering with Regional Managers and key stakeholders to refine scheduling processes, address complex challenges, and implement a coordinated, data-driven approach to transportation.

Minimum Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of correctional operations, transportation processes, and/or institutional priorities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex operational scenarios

Ability to coordinate and influence across multiple regions and organizational levels

Ability to lead work processes and supervise staff effectively

Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills

Ability to apply systems thinking to operational challenges

Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, high-risk environment

Experience in corrections, logistics, operations, or a related field

Demonstrated experience coordinating complex operations or multi-site activities

Experience leading or guiding work across teams or functions

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated experience delivering responsive customer service and managing stakeholder coordination in a dynamic operational environment

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders, including Regional Managers, facility leadership, and operational units

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, resolve complex issues, and facilitate collaborative problem-solving across organizational levels

Additional Considerations

Possess experience in multi-region and centralized coordination environments, with proficiency in scheduling systems and workforce management tools.

Skilled in supporting process improvement and operational transformation initiatives, and well-versed in data analysis and performance measurement practices.
