Job Duties
The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Accounts Payable Accountant in the Fiscal Division.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Utilize Commonwealth of Virginia financial payment systems or similar to process a high volume of expenditures exceeding $400 million in annual expenditures in full compliance with state and federal policies.
Manage the agency’s invoice workflow system and compile, analyze, and prepare statistical and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct financial reconciliations and perform audits and reviews to ensure adherence to Department of Accounts (DOA) requirements.
Deliver professional customer service timely and collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with the Prompt Payment Act.
Manage and reconcile purchase card activities using the Bank of America Online Reconciliation system in accordance with state policy and procedures.
The business needs for this position have in office requirements to include but are not limited to attending the in-person meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience of specific programs and/or operations.
Knowledge/Experience of technical/system aspects of the position.
Knowledge/Experience of procedures/processes of the position.
Knowledge/Experience of program development/planning/implementation.
Knowledge/Experience of systems/programs/computer software.
Knowledge/Experience interpretation and application of federal, state laws/regulations.
Experience in meeting critical deadlines, handling multiple assignments and working independently to ensure timeliness and quality of completed assignments.
Experience with written communication internal/external stakeholders.
Additional Considerations
Competitive candidates should meet these additional considerations:
Experience working with Commonwealth of Virginia issued credit cards.
Experience working with Bank of America (SPCC) card Online Reconciliation Process.
Experience working with FAS/MMIS, Cardinal and Oracle Financials accounting system.
Experienced in Commonwealth of Virginia travel reimbursement processes.
