Job Duties
The successful candidate’s duties will include but are not limited to:
- Evaluating degree audits and transcripts to begin the initial and continuing eligibility certification processes for incoming freshmen/transfer and continuing student-athletes.
- Maintaining and entering student-athlete data in the NCAA Compliance Assistance software system.
- Assisting with data input for the NCAA Academic Performance Program and Graduation Success Rate program.
- Assisting compliance staff with rules education presentations related to eligibility issues and other duties as assigned by the Athletic Department.
Specific job responsibilities:
- Evaluates degree audit forms, transcripts and other academic records for incoming, transfer and continuing student-athletes.
- Creates eligibility certification forms used Eligibility Certification Team.
- Monitors certification status of incoming student-athletes within NCAA Eligibility Center.
- Maintains academic data in Compliance Assistant for all student-athletes on a term-by-term basis (hours earned/grade point averages) demographic information, majors, transfer status.
- Assists Compliance Coordinator with roster maintenance for each team.
- Processes eligibility certification reports to be submitted to MEAC office.
- Assists with data collection for APP, GSR and other NCAA academic reports.
- Communicates with compliance staff regarding the certification status of incoming student-athletes; including academic initial eligibility, amateur status and admission status.
- Communicates with the NCAA Eligibility Center on any questions or problems – relative to academic initial eligibility and amateur status.
- Assists with updating institutional processes as appropriate to ensure adherence to NCAA regulations.
- Registrar office functions to include but not limited to processing mail, assisting students with transcript and other requests, assisting with front counter duties, entering change of address requests.
- Assist with Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Department.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum experience of Five years working in Division I compliance or athletics administration at an institution, conference or on the NCAA staff.
- Consideration will be given to individuals who have at least 5 years of demonstrated experience working in Registrar’s office, office of admissions or other area where primary responsibilities involved evaluating academic records.
- Candidates should possess strong organization, written, and oral communication skills, have strong attention to detail and be able work with confidential information.
- A successful criminal background check is required.
Additional Considerations
- Master’s degree.
- Strong knowledge of NCAA Bylaw 14.
- Experience working with Colleague systems, Teamwork’s Compliance and Recruiting, and NCAA Compliant Assistant Software.
