Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center; named for two Medal of Honor recipients – Colonel Van Barfoot and Colonel Carl Sitter – provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginia’s Veterans. This single-level facility features 200 single-occupancy rooms across four nursing units.


Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is recruiting for a Nurse Manager for a 60-bed unit with a mix of skilled and long-term care residents. This position is primarily Monday-Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm. Unit Managers are assigned to an on-call rotation schedule which may include working in the evening, after midnight, or on the weekends.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Provides supervision to staff.
  • Manages of resident care and care plans. 
  • Conducts appropriate reporting and rounding with safety monitoring.
  • Evaluates policies, programs and services consistent with the Department of Nursing procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in VA.
  • Experience in leadership or management.

Additional Considerations

  • Nursing experience in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting.
