Job Duties

The Cumberland Plateau Health District seeks to fill a Housekeeping position based at the Dickenson County Health Department and will clean the offices in Dickenson and Buchanan Counties.

Performs routine custodial and housekeeping services and assures security of the buildings. Characteristic duties include: collecting trash, litter, and debris from the buildings and grounds; vacuuming carpets; mopping floors; cleaning and disinfecting restrooms; and setting up rooms for meetings and conferences. Typically follows established guidelines for safety, security, and work priority.
This is a wage (hourly) position and is not eligible for state benefits.

Wage employees are limited to working an average of up to 29 hours per week (not to exceed 1500 hours in a 12-month period).

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning methods and use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies
• Knowledge of safety practices as related to work
• Skill in the operation of manual power cleaning equipment
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to interact and communicate well with internal and external customers
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of position

Additional Considerations

• Previous experience in housekeeping and the use of power cleaning equipment
