While not a full-time supervisory position, you’ll play an essential leadership role by stepping in as the backup to the Clerk of the Court—keeping daily operations on track, guiding staff as needed, and helping maintain the professionalism and efficiency that the court relies on. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys problem-solving, and values being part of mission-driven public service.

• Ability to accurately type 70–90 words per minute and transcribe administrative hearings with a high degree of precision and consistency.
• Strong listening, documentation, and transcription abilities, including the capacity to process complex testimony and maintain accuracy under time constraints.
• Basic knowledge of general office procedures, practices, and equipment; standard English grammar and punctuation; and legal processes and terminology.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
• Skill in proofreading, editing, data entry, scheduling, and using relevant systems such as VUIS, Clear2There, eFax, and bot tools.
• Ability to maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, follow established guidelines, adapt to new systems, work independently and as part of a team, and uphold confidentiality and professionalism.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office Professional and/or comparable software.
• Familiarity with electronic document management, record retention practices, and workflow tracking tools.
• Ability to supervise staff and direct workflow to maintain continuity of operations in the absence of the Clerk.

• Paralegal education, certification, or experience providing administrative or legal support in a fast‑paced legal or hearing office environment.
• Experience accurately transcribing administrative hearings in a fast-paced environment.
