Job Duties

Provides administrative and programmatic support to the department in support of the unit and agency mission. Updates and maintains records, files, and automated databases. Prepares copies of relevant documentation, maintains files, emails documentation and answers telephone calls.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Experience working in an administrative capacity in a confidential setting. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain written and electronic records. Demonstrated ability to set up and maintain automated and manual filing systems. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to perform tasks in an organized matter. Demonstrated ability to gather and manipulate data. Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and respond to questions concerning standards and policies.

Additional Considerations

Knowledge of VADOC policies and procedures and experience with American Corrections Association (ACA) Accreditation Standards preferred. Skill in the use of Outlook, Access, and Publisher. Recent experience providing customer service and administrative support in a professional office setting. Recent experience using office equipment (i.e., computers, printers, copier, and fax machine).
