Job Duties

The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive administrative, operational, and program support to the Health Services Unit. Specifically supporting the mental health and psychiatry department. The role ensures the coordination of people, processes, documentation, and communication necessary for the effective functioning of Health Services programs. This position supports agency leadership by managing program workflows, maintaining accurate records and data systems, facilitating meetings and communication, and ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Through reliable program coordination and administrative stewardship, the position contributes directly to the delivery, oversight, and continuous improvement of Health Services operations across the Department of Corrections.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of administrative procedures, documentation standards, and office productivity systems, including Microsoft 365, Adobe Pro, and DocuSign.

Knowledge of confidentiality requirements, organizational policies, and compliance expectations.

Knowledge of data management principles, database maintenance, tracking tools, and standardized reporting workflows.

Strong organizational and time management skills to coordinate meetings, schedules, events, and project timelines.

Excellent written communication skills for preparing professional correspondence, agendas, reports, summaries, and meeting minutes.

Skill in database management, file organization, and maintaining accurate documentation of program activities.

Proficiency using spreadsheets, planning tools, and tracking systems to support productivity, deadline management, and reporting functions.

Ability to research and respond to inquiries, gather relevant information, and route concerns to appropriate individuals or units.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality related to personnel matters, sensitive program information, and organizational changes.

Ability to follow established workflows, maintain required documentation, and ensure timely completion of recurring reporting responsibilities.

Ability to support leadership through scheduling, logistics coordination, summary preparation, and clear communication.

Additional Considerations

Experience in a correctional setting.

Experience in a healthcare organization setting.
