Job Duties
The Apprenticeship Intermediary Fellow is responsible for designing, launching, and managing the Virginia Apprenticeship Intermediary Network, a statewide community of practice that supports and strengthens apprenticeship intermediaries across the Commonwealth. The Fellow will develop the foundational tools, processes, and structures that Virginia Works will continue sustaining after the 6 month fellowship period. This includes establishing onboarding systems, network engagement strategies, performance management supports, employer matching processes, and alignment with the agency’s Registered Apprenticeship (RA) strategy.
This is a grant funded position that will run from July 2026 through December 2026.
Please note that this is a part-time wage position that cannot work more than 1500 hours beginning each May. No state benefits are provided.
This position is designated as a remote role. However, the incumbent may be required to report to the nearest Virginia Works Workforce Center to perform job functions or support operational needs, as determined by business requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of workforce development, apprenticeship models, or related fields. Demonstrated strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and skill in developing training materials, curriculum components, and user-friendly guidance documents. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment; to build strong relationships and engage stakeholders across regions and sectors; to facilitate meetings and trainings; and to coordinate multiple workstreams. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.

Experience facilitating cohort learning, training sessions, or convenings.
