Job Duties

This position oversees and manages various DPOR systems, projects, and team members to ensure that DPOR systems operate efficiently and securely and in a manner that aligns with business goals. This position serves as a lead within DPOR’s IT section that coordinates the efforts of a technical team and performs tasks that provide operational support for DPOR’s mission-critical systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Considerable working experience with

· Linux/RHEL server environments.

· Enterprise Java and applications and application architectures.

· Application servers and web technologies, including Tomcat, JBoss, IIS, Apache, and related web services technologies.

· Oracle databases.

· SOAP/Web Services and enterprise system integrations.

· Linux batch processing, scheduled jobs, and automation processes.

· Network security concepts, firewall coordination, IP filtering, certificate creation/implementation and access management.

· Multi-tier application environments and release management processes.

· Enterprise application support, troubleshooting, and production operations.

· Demonstrated ability to function as an effective team/project lead and/or as a supervisor

· Considerable experience implementing information security principles and practices.

· Considerable experience performing risk assessments and producing system security plans in accordance with applicable Commonwealth and agency standards and policies

· Ability to understand, document and assess end-to-end business processes and translate operational requirements into technical solutions.

· Excellent communication (both written and oral), stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

· Strong understanding of application infrastructure, databases, integrations, and operational processes.

· Demonstrated ability and determination to learn new and complex technologies, systems, and processes, and apply knowledge gained to support operations

· Demonstrated ability to plan and perform in a manner that results in on-time, effective delivery of agreed-upon services and outcomes.

· Demonstrated ability and willingness to take on tasks that free up other team members to focus on efforts that only they can do.

· Highly-organized and detail-oriented with strong documentation skills

Additional Considerations

· Working knowledge of VITA standards, particularly SEC-530

· Working experience with Windows Server, IIS, and SQL Server

· Working experience with Windows scheduled jobs and automation processes.

· Working experience with Microsoft Power Platform
