The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as a Commonwealth Technology Strategic Partner with the Customer Experience Division.

Strategic Partnership Leadership — Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Commonwealth’s strategic initiatives produce meaningful, aligned results.
Environmental Sensing — Anticipate changes in organizational needs, technology, and the broader landscape to inform strategic direction.
Culture Evolution — Champion a culture of shared ownership, continuous improvement, and organizational evolution.
Business Relationship Management — Own the strategic relationship between the BRM function and business partners to stimulate, surface, and shape demand, and converge organization-wide strategic direction.
Stakeholder Partnering — Develop deep understanding of partner functions to better align strategy and value.
Cross-Functional Collaboration — Build and maintain relationships across the organization as a core strategic capability.
Value Framework — Drive value and meaningful results through stakeholder partnerships, risk evaluation, and adaptation to evolving needs, enabling organizational awareness, education, and meaningful results.
IT Strategic Planning — Guide the submission, review, and alignment of IT Strategic Plans (ITSP) to communicate and achieve strategic objectives.
Advocacy — Serve as an advocate for business partners and their initiatives.
Communication and Conflict Resolution — Communicate unfavorable decisions with professionalism, clarity, and empathy, and manage challenging interactions while preserving trust and strong working relationships.

Minimum Qualifications
Extensive business relationship management experience operating at a trusted advisor or strategic partner level, with a demonstrated record of shaping demand toward higher-value outcomes rather than fulfilling transactional requests.
Extensive experience leading strategic planning activities and translating business strategies into capabilities, including roadmap development and aligning IT investments to business outcomes.
Extensive experience building and sustaining productive relationships with executive-level internal and external stakeholders, acting as a connector and translator across business and provider organizations.
Considerable experience driving the development and implementation of business initiatives aligned to strategic objectives.
Experience with IT infrastructure, applications, software, and end-user products and services, sufficient to assess and leverage to enable business strategy.
Experience with communicating complex technical and strategic information persuasively to non-technical executives and to facilitate alignment among parties with differing priorities.
Considerable demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a portfolio of simultaneous initiatives with competing priorities, making value-based trade-off decisions.
Experience with leading, influencing, and directing outcomes without direct authority across organizational boundaries.
Additional Considerations
Experience defining and articulating realized business and financial value to executive leadership.
Experience participating in or facilitating governance processes (investment, demand, or portfolio governance bodies).
Demonstrated success advancing the BRM capability or relationship maturity within an organization over time.
BRMP® or CBRM® certification from BRM Institute, or equivalent demonstrated mastery of the BRMBoK.
Experience in public sector / government IT or a multi-supplier / shared-services environment.
