Job Duties
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dietary Aide to join our team and support the nutritional needs of residents in our Veterans Care Center. This role plays an important part in ensuring meals are prepared, served, and delivered in a resident- centered environment.
Schedule: 11:30am-8:00pm 2 days a week and every other weekend. (holidays as needed)
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assist with preparing and serving meals according to planned menus and resident diet orders.
• Maintain food safety standards during meal service.
• Deliver meals to residents in kitchenettes or individual rooms as needed.
• Complete and record daily temperature logs
• Set up meal trays, dining areas, and prep stations in a clean and organized manner.
• Wash dishes, sanitize work areas, and maintain kitchen cleanliness in accordance with health regulations.
• Follow special diet requirements, including texture‑modified and physician‑ordered diets.
• Assist with stocking food and supplies, rotating inventory, and monitoring expiration dates.
• Provide exceptional customer service to residents, families, and staff.
• Communicate any dietary concerns, questions, or changes in resident needs to the supervisor.
• Support the dietary team in maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant kitchen environment.
Minimum Qualifications
•Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines (SERV Safe standards)
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift items in a fast‑paced environment.
• Prior experience in food service or healthcare dietary settings preferred but not required.
Additional Considerations
Previous long-term care, geriatric or hospital experience preferred but not required.
