Job Duties

The Hemp Program Coordinator oversees the development, implementation, compliance, and daily administration of the organization's hemp regulatory and outreach program. This position ensures adherence to federal and state hemp regulations, supports licensed retailers and producers, manages program operations, and provides technical expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders. The coordinator plays a key role in advancing safe, compliant, and economically viable hemp production within the state/organization.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Knowledge of agricultural programs, plant production systems, or hemp/cannabis regulations.
  • Understanding of federal and state hemp regulatory frameworks (e.g., USDA Final Rule).
  • Skill in interpreting and applying laws, policies, and technical guidelines.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage data, maintain records, and prepare accurate reports.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and provide sound recommendations.
  • Proficiency with office software, databases, and digital record systems.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, environmental science, public administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in regulatory compliance, program administration, agriculture, or related work.
  • Experience working with producers, agricultural programs, or technical regulations.

 

Additional Considerations

Preferred / Optional Education and Experience

  • Experience specifically related to hemp, cannabis, or controlled agricultural crops.
  • Experience in government, regulatory agencies, or public-sector programs.
  • Advanced degree in agriculture, environmental policy, or program management.
  • Experience with data management systems, GIS tools, or regulatory databases.
  • Experience delivering public outreach, training, or stakeholder education
