Job Duties

Director of Food Services is to plan, develop and direct the activities/operations of the food service department. He/She is responsible for food service standards, policy and procedure, food service staff, equipment, systems and work areas, while providing high quality of food service for residents in a cost-effective manner. The Director of Food Services is responsible for decisions regarding food service activities, directs and consults with the Registered Dietician, and/or other resources as necessary and/or appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

May be required to stand for extended periods of time. Must be free from contagious diseases and/or conditions which may be passed via food or food service. May be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Must have communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to permit the full performance of the duties of the position.

Additional Considerations

High school graduate or equivalent. Must be a Certified Dietary Manager. At least 3 years clinical nutrition/or food service experience. Previous experience with MDS and Care Plans required. Previous experience working with the long term care service management is preferred. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Computer skills and ability to learn new software programs. Knowledge of local, state, and federal guidelines and requirements is desirable.
