The Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission (VWC), an independent state agency, is seeking a highly organized and service-oriented Facilities & Procurement Coordinator to support the daily operations of our headquarters and regional offices.

From coordinating procurement activities and managing inventory to assisting with facilities operations and vendor relationships, you'll play an important role in ensuring employees have the resources, equipment, and work environment they need to serve Virginians effectively.

What You'll Do

As the Facilities & Procurement Coordinator, you'll help support agency operations by:

• Coordinating the procurement of goods, equipment, and services while ensuring compliance with Commonwealth and agency purchasing requirements.
• Comparing vendors, obtaining quotes, processing purchases, and tracking orders from request through delivery.
• Maintaining agency inventory levels and ensuring supplies are available for staff throughout the organization.
• Receiving shipments, resolving delivery issues, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Assisting with the coordination of headquarters facilities, office moves, renovations, and workspace changes.
• Serving as a primary point of contact for building tenants, vendors, and facility-related service requests.
• Supporting fixed asset and inventory accountability.
• Assisting with building security coordination, agency identification badges, gas card administration, and surplus property activities.
• Helping maintain a safe, functional, and professional workplace for employees and visitors.
• Responding to occasional after-hours building or facility issues when necessary.
• Process accounts payables and reconcile purchase card.

This position has been designated as COOP Essential, meaning the employee may be required to report during emergency or continuity of operations events.

Telework Structure

  • Our agency is currently using a hybrid model for teleworking. Our positions currently are not 100% teleworking. However, we do have a liberal telework policy in place and all candidates would be expected to report to our Headquarters as requested.
  • Telework is not guaranteed and is subject to the operational needs of the Commission. Upon hire, candidates should expect to have all training and orientation conducted at the Headquarters Office, or as required.

  • Selected candidates who reside outside of Virginia will need to receive Commission approval prior to an offer being finalized.

  • This position will report mainly in office and telework will be at the discretion of department management.

Work Location
This position's central workplace is the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission's Richmond Headquarters.

  • Employees must be able to report to the Richmond office as required by operational needs.
  • Candidates who currently reside outside of Virginia will need Commission approval of their work location prior to an offer being finalized.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience coordinating purchasing, procurement, inventory, facilities, logistics, shipping/receiving, or office operations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Sound judgment and the ability to work independently.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to providing excellent internal customer service.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• The ability to build positive working relationships with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Valid Virginia Driver's License with good driving record and positive points.
• Occasional travel to regional offices may be required.

Additional Considerations

• VA Procurement Certification such as VCA and/or VCO preferred.
