Job Duties
The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a Motor Carrier Operating Authority (OA) Program Specialist. The Motor Carrier OA Program Specialist – Operating Authority Programs manages application processing, FMCSA and IRS compliance, and financial reconciliation. This role emphasizes maintaining accurate records, addressing compliance issues, and providing regulatory guidance to customers via phone and email. While primarily focused on OA, the Specialist is cross-trained to support EZ Fleet and other motor carrier programs as needed.
Motor Carrier Services' Commercial Intrastate Operations (CICO) Division administers programs for Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT), Unified Carrier Registration (UCR), Operating Authority (OA), for-hire registration, and EZ Fleet/EZ REG. The Division ensures compliance with federal and state regulations and supports efficient operations and exceptional customer service to promote safety, consumer protection, and transportation reliability.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience with customer service in guiding customers through various application processes
Experience responding to customer inquiries and ensuring timely resolution of compliance related issues
Strong written and effective communication skills
The ability to reconcile daily deposits while ensuring compliance with PCI standards
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
Additional Considerations
Knowledge of federal and state regulations for motor carriers
Experience in DMV operations or motor carrier programs
