Job Duties
The Production Supervisor at Bland Correctional Center’s Agribusiness Department oversees loading dock operations and supervises offender workers to ensure safe, efficient loading, unloading, processing, and shipment of agribusiness products. The role maintains custody and public safety, supports milk processing and delivery functions, conducts equipment inspections, ensures sanitation and maintenance standards, and completes required records and documentation. This position requires knowledge of farm work, food processing operations, shipping and receiving, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate motor vehicles, farm equipment, computers, and hand and power tools.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should have experience in farm work, agribusiness, or food processing operations, including familiarity with farm machinery, motorized equipment, or plant auxiliary systems. They should also have prior experience in shipping and receiving, basic computer skills, and working in environments that require adherence to detailed procedures or regulatory standards. Candidates must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, the ability to follow instructions, and a history of safely operating vehicles, tools, or equipment. A high school diploma or equivalent and a valid state driver’s license.
Additional Considerations
Experience supervising workers, especially in secure or regulated environments, may be strong candidates. Familiarity with dairy or food production processes, kosher plant operations, or preventive maintenance practices can be beneficial. Background in transportation logistics, equipment repair, or experience completing detailed operational records and inspections.
