Job Duties
The Virginia Department of the Treasury is dedicated to serving the Commonwealth by providing excellent management of its banking, investing, and financing services and the administration of unclaimed property and insurance programs.
The Treasury is currently seeking a Human Resource Coordinator to provide administrative support to the human resource department. Incumbent will be responsible for keying agency transactions into HR and benefits systems; drafting correspondence; updating agency organizational chart; serving as HR liaison with Payroll Service Bureau; maintaining personnel files; completing reference checks; performing records retention activities for HR files; and organizing employee engagement activities.
Minimum Qualifications
The selected candidate will at least possess the following qualifications:
• Considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures.
• Work experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience providing excellent customer and administrative support in a professional office environment.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new skills and assist in the development of new processes to support the department.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively.
• Must have excellent proofreading and grammar skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with internal and external customers and all levels of staff and the public.
• Experience processing transactions in Cardinal Human Capital Management (HCM).
• Knowledge of PageUp Performance Management System.
• Experience preparing, processing, tracking, and filing large volumes of employment and position transactions.
• Experience planning employee events.
Additional Considerations
• Coursework in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent experience, education, and training.
• Professional Human Resource Certification (SHRM or HRCI)
