Job Duties
Provides operational and administrative support to the institution. Coordinates, directs, and manages audit compliance processes. Serves as an Administrative Duty Officer managing all institutional operations on a rotational basis. Writes, manages and oversees policy and procedure development for all functions throughout the institution. Supervises staff and manages the inmate appeal processes, inmate grievance procedure processes, and Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). Prepares recommendations and management reports for review by various internal and external users.
Minimum Qualifications
The Institutional Operations Manager must have extensive knowledge of corrections and VADOC policies, along with experience supervising staff and managing performance. Candidates should be able to oversee ACA and Board of Corrections audit compliance, PREA standards, and institutional policy development. The role also requires experience managing inmate grievance and disciplinary appeal processes and serving as a duty officer to ensure safety and security. A high school diploma or equivalent and a work history demonstrating strong judgment and operational leadership in a correctional setting.

Candidates should demonstrate effective decision‑making, problem‑solving, and collaboration across diverse operational areas. Experience showing adaptability, sound judgment, and adherence to policies and procedures.
