Job Duties
The Virginia Military Institute Department of Applied Mathematics invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in applied mathematics at the assistant professor level.
Minimum Qualifications
The position requires a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching, including the ability to mentor undergraduates in research projects, and have an ongoing program of scholarly activity.
Additional Considerations
Applicants should submit a letter stating their professional goals and teaching interests, a statement of teaching philosophy, a statement of research interests and a CV. Three letters of recommendation, one of which must address teaching effectiveness, should be included.

The successful candidate will teach a wide variety of undergraduate courses. Faculty members are expected to participate in cadet development and professional citizenship duties, such as advising and committee work.
Members of the faculty wear uniforms and adhere to military customs and courtesy although military experience is not required.
