Job Duties

*Must be a current State employee to qualify for this position*.

The Buyer position performs buying duties for stock and non-stock items in support of the facility’s mission to include nonprofessional services.

Successful candidate should possess:
Skilled in operation of desktop computer, typewriter, copier and calculator.
Ability to work with the public rendering excellent customer service and complete tasks in required timeframes.
Knowledge of VPPA, APSPM, SPCC, Conflict of Interest and electronic procurement systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid Driver's License is required.

Experience in purchasing policies, procedures and terminology (i.e. VPPA, APSPM, Conflict of Interest, EVA, SPCC, and SWaM).

Experience with automated ERP, procurement, and inventory systems is required.

Must be able to obtain a VCA within two years of employment date.

Additional Considerations

Experience with state and/or federal procurement processing.
