The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is dedicated to protecting and promoting the health of all Virginians. VDH is made up of a statewide Central Office in Richmond and 33 local health districts.

The ARMICS Compliance Analyst supports the Virginia Department of Health’s internal control environment by coordinating, documenting, evaluating, and monitoring compliance with the Agency Risk Management and Internal Control Standards (ARMICS). The position serves as a technical and analytical resource to financial and program divisions, ensuring adherence to Commonwealth internal control requirements, identifying risks, recommending improvements, tracking corrective actions, and supporting audit readiness. This role directly contributes to safeguarding Commonwealth assets, improving fiscal accountability, and promoting strong internal controls across VDH.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Proven experience with internal controls, auditing, fiscal operations, and compliance work.
2. Experience analyzing processes, documenting controls, and preparing written reports or workpapers.
3. Experience coordinating work efforts across multiple units or divisions.
4. Demonstrated ability to interpret policies and apply regulatory or compliance requirements.

Additional Considerations

1. Demonstrated knowledge in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Experience with ARMICS requirements or similar internal control frameworks.
3. Experience with process mapping, risk assessment, or compliance monitoring.
4. Experience supporting internal or external audits.
5. Experience with ERP systems.
