Job Duties
To affect the procurement of a variety of complex goods and services in a prompt, accurate and professional manner. To procure commodities assigned in response to the requirements set forth by the University in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia procurement regulations purchasing quality goods and services in a timely manner at a reasonable cost. To administer contract compliance and to procure quality goods and services in a timely manner at a reasonable cost and in accordance with the University and Commonwealth of Virginia procurement regulations. To ensure procurement transactions are in accordance with the Governing Rules for higher education institutions and the “Manual”.
Minimum Qualifications
Significant knowledge of contract law principles.
Experience with e-procurement and automated procurement systems.
Significant knowledge and experience with public procurement laws, policies, and procedures.
Considerable knowledge and experience with spreadsheets and database software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and Power Point).
Knowledgeable through experience leading a management team and improving business processes.
Significant knowledge and experience with developing and conducting formal classes as required.
Knowledge and experience with conducting research and analysis as well as writing work related reports.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, information sciences, engineering or a related field or an equivalent
combination of education, training and experience.
Experience in state procurement, contract negotiations and administration in goods and services. C.P.M., CPCM, CPPB, or CPPO.
