WWRC is seeking to hire an individual to fill a Campus Life Associate-Dorm position. The campus life associate will be responsible for engaging with clients and other rehabilitation team members to create a safe, clean, and supportive residential/recreational experience throughout the entire Campus Life Division environment, promoting positive social, interpersonal, and self-management skills. This role responds daily to requests for information from clients, families, sponsors, field and agency counselors, other center departments, and members of the client’s team. Requests primarily focus on room assignments, room care issues, interpersonal/psycho-social functioning of clients, and environmental safety/security; describe the type of supervisory advice and guidance the employee receives and actions/decisions the employee makes without prior approval. Independently solves problems in accordance with center/division/department guidance/policy; manages residential business processes/procedures daily in support of a safe and positive therapeutic campus life division environment; discusses with the supervisor the development and implementation of current and new activities/programs/procedures/guidance; seeks and receives guidance from the supervisor or appropriate designee in unusual situations or the absence of defined policies and procedures. This position would be assigned to the 2nd or 3rd shift with rotating weekend duty.

Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge/Experience:
Knowledge of theory and techniques utilized in behavior modification, crisis intervention,
and problem-solving.
Knowledge of confidentiality and boundary issues
Knowledge of safety awareness in a residential/dormitory setting
Knowledge of the recreation hall environment for coverage as needed
Skills/Abilities:
Skills in assessing individual and group needs and ability to plan and implement programs to meet those needs.
Good oral and written communication, computer and organization/time management skills
Ability to relate positively to people with disabilities and knowledge of disabilities served.
Ability to foster a safe, clean, and supportive environment promoting positive social, interpersonal, and self-management skills encouraging opportunities to learn needed skills to promote and enhance personal independence.
Ability to assess environmental factors and safety hazards while conducting day-to-day operations.
Ability to foster the interdisciplinary team approach.
Additional Considerations:
Training or experience in health and human service related field working with persons with
disabilities, particularly in a therapeutic residential and/or recreational setting
Recreational training or experience and/or certification(s) such as CTRS, Fitness Instruction
Certification, Lifeguarding, Coaching (team or individual).
