Job Duties
The purpose of this position is to provide exceptional customer service to training participants and staff while ensuring the effective preparation, presentation and serving of meals in a comprehensive food service operation. This position ensures compliance with health, safety, and security standards by appropriately supervising assigned inmate workers. This position orders and receives food products, equipment and other supplies while maintaining an accurate inventory system.
Minimum Qualifications
Working knowledge of large volume food operations, sanitation, and safety standards. Knowledge of food storage and inventory methods. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service. Working knowledge of menu planning and ability to prepare nutritional meals. Skilled in the operation of food service equipment. Ability to supervise staff and/or inmate workers. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office to include outlook.
Additional Considerations
Advance Knowledge Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, cost controls and operating and repairing food service equipment. ServSafe certification. Experience in Food Service operations or dietary management. Food Service experience working in a correctional, educational, hospital or similar environment.
