Job Duties
This hiring event will fill multiple Probation Officer positions located at the Richmond P&P District Office. The hiring event will be held on March 18, 2025, at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel located at 9901 Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond Virginia 23235. This event will take place from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
No walk-ins will be accepted. Only individuals who complete an application online will be available to interview.
On-site interviews will be offered to qualified applicants that have successfully applied for this position by submitting a completed application/resume. During this event, applicants can expect to complete the interview, background processing and, if successful, could leave the event with a contingent job offer. Applicants should report between 9:00am and 3:00pm and allot enough time to complete the interview process.
Assists Probation Officers in the supervision, surveillance, and investigation of an assigned caseload of adult inmates. Investigates and verifies information on alleged violations. Assists in monitoring probationers and assists in preparing reports and maintaining documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
Working knowledge of surveillance and investigative techniques. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and Automated Databases. Demonstrated experience to collect pertinent information from a variety of sources, maintain logs, and document discussions with inmates, or probationers in a human service setting. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Working knowledge of an electronic, voice monitoring system &/or anytrax.
Additional Considerations
Experience working with case management computer applications. Demonstrated experience making referrals to community resources. The selected candidate must be eligible and successfully obtain required VCIN certification.
