About the Position:
The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Equipment and Applications Specialist Senior in our Communications Division at State Police Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The successful candidate will install database access software, scanner units and resolves subscriber hardware and software compatibility issues; manage catalog entries, manufacturers, models, and site locations; provide technical support and training on Sunflower to Communication Division Field Technicians and State Police Headquarters (SPHQ) technical staff; correct errors, and conflicting data through research of the data input; maintain the user and equipment location database and verify a custodian for every asset; maintain the list of each unique item of equipment, configuration for each and enters this information into the database; travel with field techs to Communications Division sites to conduct audits; and refine the Statewide Agencies Radio System (STARS) subscriber equipment installation process.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of and experience using asset management systems to track capital and controlled assets. Skill in operating computers and using Microsoft Word and Excel, to include creating formulas and using built-in functions to perform calculations. Ability to create data visualizations for the Asset Management Program; extract data from the asset management system, filter data, and create reports; work with Agency members and User Agency Requirements Committee (UARC) to conduct audits of assets and resolve discrepancies; review and analyze data to predict future needs and recommend enhancements; work independently and as a member of a team on audit projects; communicate effectively orally and in writing in English; and manage time and multiple assignments.
