Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented FARS (Fatality Analysis Reporting System) Supervisor to lead a team responsible for collecting, analyzing, organizing, and processing fatal crash data. This role ensures the accurate and efficient coding of fatal crash cases while maintaining up-to-date records. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, process improvement, and leadership, with a focus on efficiency and productivity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Supervise and perform the collection, analysis, organization, data processing, and maintenance of fatal crash data for coding cases.
  • Write and update detailed procedure manuals.
  • Develop and monitor weekly and monthly production goals.
  • Seek ways to improve efficiencies in business processes.
  • Utilize improved technology to increase staff productivity and manage workflows.
  • Respond to requests and collect statistical data from federal and state levels.
  • Perform duties of VA FARS coder and coding supervisor.

Additional Considerations

  • Experience with FARS (Fatality Analysis Reporting System) coding and reporting.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding fatal crash data.
