Job Summary
Reporting to the Adult Education Program Director, the Paraprofessional is responsible for providing a variety of clerical duties in support of the Adult Education program including main clerical support for the director. They also interact daily with and provide instructional, registration, and intake orientation-related services for potential and current students and faculty. The position will serve as main intake/contact for grant related registrations and assisting students with the appropriate referrals.
Job Duties
• Perform general office duties, including but not limited to filing, faxing, and disbursement of administrative and instructional materials • Setup and maintain paper and electronic filing systems
• Assist with departmental calendaring, access and maintenance of electronic activities.
• Provide front desk welcome to new students coming into Blazier/Wilson Hall.
• Assist with graduation
• Assist with student registration, assessment, orientation/counseling for AE students and/or other grant partners such as STRONG FAMILIES/STRONG ACC.
• Assists with scheduling, proctoring, and scoring State-required tests (CASAS, HiSET OPT)
• Assist with ordering materials and supplies
• Organize and maintain confidential program and student files as well as report documentation
• Maintain office equipment and supply inventories
• Prepare and assist with fiscal processes
• Maintain technical knowledge by engaging in opportunities to improve or increase skills
• Contribute to team efforts
• Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with digital data entry
• Customer service experience
• Experience with general office equipment (fax, copier, scanner, multi-line phone system etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
• Adult education experience
• A.S. degree in office administration, business, or other related field
• Experience with multiple types of scheduling (i.e., staff, events, and courses)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Technology Skills: MS Office skills, Word, Excel, Outlook; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Organizational and analytical skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Accept new tasks and responsibilities in a positive/professional manner
