Northeast State Community College is accepting applications for the position listing of adjunct faculty to collect a pool of qualified candidates for upcoming semesters. Adjunct faculty positions are temporary teaching positions filled semester-by-semester as needed. This posting is not a guarantee of an open position. Available positions vary and fluctuate to include classes during the day, evening, traditional, high school dual enrollment, or Career Technical Education (CTE). Adjunct faculty may be asked to travel to and teach from any of NeSCC campuses: Blountville, Elizabethton, Gray, or Kingsport unless otherwise noted.
You must have the ability to travel to the Northeast State campus if selected to teach. Adjunct positions are not strictly online teaching assignments and may require travel to one or more campuses. We are not accepting applications for individuals who are seeking only online assignments.
Qualified applicants are particularly needed in the following fields: Anatomy and Physiology, Anthropology, Automotive Electrical (Blountville and Kingsport), Aviation, Biology, Chemistry, CNC Machining (Blountville), Criminal Justice (daytime classes), Economics, Industrial Electronics (Blountville and Kingsport), EMT, English (daytime classes), Geography, Hydraulics and Pneumatics (Kingsport), Music (daytime classes), Nursing, Paramedic, Philosophy (daytime classes), Physics, Spanish, Sociology, and Welding (all processes/Blountville and Kingsport).
Qualified applicants are particularly needed to teach high school students (Dual Enrollment) in the following fields: Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, English, History, Psychology, Spanish, and Welding (all processes). Please indicate in your cover letter your interest in teaching at local area high schools.

Responsibilities
- Deliver quality instruction during the arranged time set forth in the semester schedule
- Comply with Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) and Northeast State Community policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Demonstrate excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Utilize technology as recommended (prior computer experience recommended)
- Comply with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping; use student information system to submit student attendance and final grades, etc.
- Administer, complete, and return requested surveys and evaluations
- Notify appropriate personnel of inability to meet a scheduled class
- Check and respond to both D2L and institutional email within 48 hours
- Adhere to deadlines for assigned duties and tasks as requested
- Complete Title IX and VI training and other online training programs as appropriate
- Follow professional code of conduct and ethics
- Complete other duties as assigned
Compensation
Generally $620 Per Credit Hour
