Pay Rate: $39,760.00 - $48,830.00/per year. Pay will be determined based on related work experience above required. To be considered in determining pay, all related work experience must be listed on the application.

Position Summary: The overall purpose of this job is to provide technical support for lab equipment and computers in the Electrical Engineering Technology labs and offices.  Order/maintain supplies and software used for student labs.

Essential Functions: 

20% Repair or replace defective laboratory equipment

20% Maintain laboratory and office computers ( Both Hardware and software)

10% Teach labs as needed.

10% Maintain calibration of laboratory equipment

10% Order/ Maintain supplies used for student labs.

5% Research / Order new software.

5% Research / Order new lab equipment.

5% Maintain stock of commonly used parts for quick response to problems.

5% Supervise student workers.

5% Maintain Microsoft deployment images for Electrical Engineering labs

5% Design and build new lab equipment

Job Requirements: 

An Associate of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electromechanical, Engineering Technology or related field from an accredited institution OR the ability to obtain an Associate of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electromechanical, Engineering Technology or related field from an accredited institution within (1) year of initial employment date and a minimum of 5 years related work experience, 

OR,

A high school diploma/GED equivalent and 7 years related work experience with the ability to obtain an Associate of Applied Science in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology or related field from an accredited institution within (5) years of initial employment date (candidates must take 6 credit hours per academic year). 

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

With an Associate’s degree or higher: a minimum of 5 years related work experience. Without a degree: a minimum of 7 years related work experience supporting instrumentation, programmable logic controllers, 3 phase motors, and general electrical systems, to include at least one year supporting computer hardware, software and networking.

Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience.

Physical Demands: Good manual dexterity is need while working on small electronic circuits.

Moving lab equipment, computer, and printers. 5lbs to 65lbs.

Must be able to hear to interact with students and coworkers.

Must have good visual acuity to work with small electronic circuits.

Must be able to detect colors to identify some electronic parts.

Hazards: Exposure to flux and lead fumes while soldering. Chance of burns while soldering.

Exposure to high voltage while repairing equipment.
