General Function:
Provide students, parents and families efficient assistance with processing, inquiries, information and issue resolution related to cashier transactions, admissions, business office and very limited scope financial aid.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent with two years or more of customer service experience in an educational, office administration, retail, or clerical setting. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication, including the ability to draft clear, concise, and professional correspondence, reports, and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution, one year of higher education experience in admissions, business office or financial aid. Higher education experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication, including the ability to draft clear, concise, and professional correspondence, reports, and documentation.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide students, parents and families efficient assistance with processing, inquiries, information and issue resolution related to cashier transactions, admissions, business office and very limited scope financial aid
- Assist students and parents/families with admission questions and issues including but not limited to admissions applications; high school/college transcripts; immunizations; transcript requests; proof of citizenship; state residency; test scores; and other general account information
- Process admissions documentation in the Banner system including but not limited to high school transcripts; immunization health history forms; proof of citizenship documentation; ACT/SAT test scores
- Assist students and parents/families with Business Office questions and issues including but not limited to tuition/fees; past due balances; parking tickets; vehicle registration; parking passes; fee waivers/discounts; reimbursement/balance of financial aid checks; verification for Financial Aid; TN Promise; TN Reconnect; Hope scholarship; FAFSA application process; FSA ID; tax forms; state/federal grants; scholarships
- Process payments including but not limited to tuition/fees; past due balances; parking tickets; replacement parking passes; etc
- Provide support for the Food Pantry and assist with campus enrollment and retention events as assigned
- Assist administrative staff for recruiting, TN promise, and adult initiatives with projects as needed
- Coordinate scanning activities in Banner system, and disposal of received documents
- Assist and serve as a liaison for students and parents who require assistance with navigating the financial aid process or financial aid programs
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to students, parents, families, FERPA and financial aid programs
- Knowledge and ongoing understanding of federal, state, and institutional regulations regarding admissions, records, business office, and financial aid
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
- Strong computer skills, including but not limited to ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system(s) (Banner), word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, database, and internet
