Title: Project Reroute Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY
The Coordinator of the Nashville State Project Reroute oversees a support program for justice-impacted learners attending main campus locations as part of the Correctional Education Initiative. Programming and services aim to support the college’s 2030 vision, which focuses on increasing persistence rates (Fall to Spring retention), retention rates (Fall to Fall retention), and 3-year graduation rates. This aligns with Nashville State’s Vision of achieving equitable outcomes for our varied community of learners.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as an academic and career advisor and advocate for cohort students. Work with subpopulation students to address barriers to admission. Collaborate with academic affairs, admissions, student success initiatives, and financial aid to address barriers specific to justice impacted students. Connect cohort students to appropriate resources both in and out of the college.
Creation, implementation, and scheduling of periodic workshops for students to address topics including but not limited to: software training, study skills, career and goal planning, financial literacy, mental health/mindset support. Create, implement and supervise peer-mentoring program. Develop and disseminate outreach materials both internally and externally to the college. Coordinate with the Webmaster of the college to create and maintain a Reroute webpage. Collecting and managing data to complete annual institutional effectiveness efforts. Act as point of contact for community partners and/or prospective students.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Two (2) years’ experience working in a higher education setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree from an accredited institution
Two years’ experience working in a higher education setting
Prior work experience at a community college
Prior work experience with justice impacted individuals
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to manage a caseload of academic and career advising. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing tasks and priorities while maintaining complete and accurate records. Proficient Microsoft Office and database management skills. Ability to build effective working relationship at all levels across the organization. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a varied community.

Rate of Pay: $44,148.00 - $55,185.00 depending on experience
