Job Purpose: The purpose of this position is to oversee and support Walters State’s Middle College and related dual enrollment initiatives by ensuring students meet both high school and college graduation requirements. This role includes coordinating with area high schools and homeschool agencies, guiding students through applications, funding, advising, and registration, and providing ongoing communication and mentoring to promote academic success. Additionally, the position develops marketing and recruitment strategies, manages program documentation, and serves as the primary liaison for Middle College, Local Dual Credit, and homeschool partnerships across the college’s ten-county service area.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversight and coordination of the Middle College Program at Walters State, including but not limited to recruitment, registration, certification (of Middle College Grant), tuition/fee reporting, liaison with all service area high schools.
- Chief advisor for all Middle College students for all college curricula and programs to ensure completion and graduation for all Middle College students.
- Responsible for the coordination of the high school curricula with each high school counselor(s) from all 25 service area high schools and all homeschool umbrella schools to ensure all graduation requirements are fulfilled for high school graduation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for registration and Middle College Grant completion (and certification/verification) for all Middle College classes/grants for each Middle College student at the college.
- Advise/meet with each Middle College student at the college monthly during the semester to ensure success and progression for each student through the program. Coordinate and serve as liaison between the faculty/ department heads/deans at the college and high school administration (counselors/principals).
- Provide and administer frequent recruitment efforts for the college's Middle College Program at area chamber events, high schools, civic clubs, and other community engagements. Serve as the point of contact for all Middle College Program communications.
- Complete and prepare detailed reports used for the college's decision-making efforts and to ensure the college's Middle College Program complies with all Federal, State, and SACSCOC requirements.
- Facilitate and coordinate all efforts related to and associated with the college's Local Dual Credit Program, including recruitment, compliance, outreach, registration, oversight, communications, etc., to ensure full compliance with all Federal, State, and SACSCOC regulations. Liaison with all academic divisions participating in the Local Dual Credit Program.
- Coordinate and serve as the college's lead and primary contact for all homeschool students participating in the dual enrollment program at the college; this includes all actions required for successful completion of the program for area homeschool students.
- Assists in the High School Programs Division as needed and requested for all other programs and functions.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Education, Business, or other related fields.
- 1-2 years of related experience
- Working knowledge of standard office equipment (PC, phone, fax, email, copier, etc.), Banner or similar software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient communication skills for developing relationships and resolving conflicts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in related field such as Education, Business, or other related fields.
- 3-4 years of related experience
- Previous work experience with K12 school system

Environment & Working Conditions: The office environment is primarily temperature-controlled, with occasional fluctuations. Travel to various work locations may involve exposure to varying environmental conditions. Offsite meetings may also occur in settings with higher noise levels.
Physical Demands (including requirements for travel or working nights/weekends/holidays):
- Extensive travel by motor vehicle.
- Possible evening and weekend work related to the dual enrollment program and division.
- Standing and walking for long periods.
- Sitting at a computer for long periods.
