Job Summary

The Field Coordinator for Seamless Alignment & Integrated Learning Support (SAILS) will work to ensure successful implementation of the SAILS Program in the participating high schools in their assigned area. The Field Coordinator will work directly with students, secondary and post-secondary faculty and administrators, and the SAILS Leadership Team. This is a full-time position serving Blount, Sevier, Loudon and Knox Counties.

Job Duties

  • 60% - PROGRAM IMPLEMENTION – Ensures successful implementation of the SAILS program in the participating high schools in their assigned region by working directly with teachers and students to ensure mastery of skills for college readiness, while maintaining program fidelity and academic integrity. • Works with HS faculty and school system/building level administrators to ensure academic integrity protocols are followed and that the program is delivered as designed. • When school is in session, provides routine on-campus support to assigned high school SAILS classes to include individual assistance to students and curriculum/instructional support to teachers. • When outside the classroom, monitors student progress and gradebooks to maximize student success. • Identifies and solves software/technology problems to optimize students’ time on task and teachers’ productivity. • Utilizes technology to enroll students in software and register students in the system. - (Essential)
  • 25% - COMMUNICATION – Provides frequent and effective communication between all program participants at the regional, district, and school levels in their assigned area. • Instructs students, teachers, and staff on the SAILS mission and college opportunities, including dual enrollment. • Provides resource information to high school students, facilitators, and LEAs. • Provides assistance to the SAILS Leadership Team to plan and coordinate SAILS training sessions and other meetings, if requested. • Questions and requests from high school personnel and the SAILS Leadership Team are handled in a timely manner. - (Essential)
  • 10% - INFORMATION AND ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTING – Gathers and disseminates information about the SAILS program and student results to the SAILS Leadership Team and high schools in their assigned area. Follows established procedures when completing administrative assignments. • Working with the SAILS Leadership Team and administrative offices at the partner high schools, maintains appropriate records for all SAILS students. • Creates, compiles, and submits reports to the Director of Operations in a timely manner. • Provides assistance in the preparation of program information for articles, publications, and presentations, if requested. • Completes travel forms and leave reports (or timesheets) on time and with attention to detail and accuracy. - (Essential)

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree
Experience working with diverse student body and/or young adults
Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the specified area

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in education or closely related discipline
5+ years teaching experience in the K-12 system

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of: assigned subject area’s basic concepts and online learning software; secondary and higher educational structures.

Skills: Strong oral and written communication; Proficient with Apple/PC platforms; Proficient with office software/technology such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive and Adobe Professional; computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, data entry); interpersonal skills consistent with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

Ability to: present information clearly and concisely; maintain confidentiality; work effectively on a team; work independently, take initiative, identify and solve problems; work with a diverse population; manage time wisely.
