JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Enterprise Systems Analyst provides advanced functional and technical leadership for Cleveland State’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment and integrated third-party applications supporting Student Services, including Financial Aid, Admissions, and Registration. This position ensures the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of systems that manage the student lifecycle. The analyst designs and maintains automation processes, integrates systems to streamline workflows, and supports compliance with institutional, state, and federal reporting requirements. Serving as a senior resource for technical guidance and data integrity, this role collaborates closely with campus departments, Information Technology, and external vendors to improve business processes and enhance the student experience.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICIATIONS

  • Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution. 
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in information systems, data analytics, or enterprise systems administration, including: 
    • Five (5) years of professional experience using Banner (enterprise resource planning system). 
    • Two (2) years of direct supervision experience of individuals. Direct supervision consists of clear authority over work assignments, performance evaluations, and overall job responsibilities. 

OR 

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience as a functional user in Financial Aid, Admissions, or Registrar, including: 
    • Five (5) years of professional experience using Banner (enterprise resource planning system). 
    • Two (2) years of direct supervision experience of individuals. Direct supervision consists of clear authority over work assignments, performance evaluations, and overall job responsibilities. 
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL (Structured Query Language), Argos, and data visualization tools such as Power BI (Business Intelligence). 
  • Extensive experience with Ellucian Banner and related Student Services applications such as Slate, Axiom, Dynamic Forms, Degree Works, and Banner Document Management Experience. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for functional users

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

ERP and Enterprise Application Support (30%)

  • Provide senior-level technical and functional support for ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) modules that support Student Services.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for troubleshooting, user assistance, and configuration in Banner and related systems.
  • Ensure the effective use and integration of third-party applications such as Slate, Axiom, Automic/UC4 (Automatic Automation), ARGOS, Degree Works, Dynamic Forms, Banner Document Management, TN FAST (Financial Aid System), DOE (Department of Education) Systems, and NextGen.
  • Coordinate upgrades, patches, and system maintenance to ensure consistent performance and data reliability.
  • Communicate updates and solutions to users.

Automation and Administration of Financial Processes (25%)

  • Design, implement, and manage automated workflows that improve Student Affairs operations including registration, grading, financial aid disbursement, and graduation processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, streamline departmental procedures, and enhance efficiency through automation and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, FERPA (Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act), and data governance standards.

Coordinating Third-Party Application Deployments (20%)

  • Lead implementation and integration of third-party applications supporting Student Services.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure systems align with institutional goals and user needs.
  • Manage vendor communications, coordinate testing and deployment timelines, and monitor post-implementation success.
  • Maintain a master schedule of system access, version control, and renewal cycles.

Data Integrity, Reporting, and Compliance Management (10%)

  • Support institutional and regulatory reporting such as Census, Enrollment, Graduation, Clearinghouse, Gainful Employment, and FISAP (Fiscal Operations Report and Application to Participate).
  • Monitor and ensure accuracy across systems through audit queries, reconciliation, and error correction.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and institutional standards, ensuring timely and accurate data submission.

End User Training and Documentation Development (5%)

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, system guides, and training materials for Student Services systems.
  • Train staff on new features, workflows, and reporting tools.
  • Provide one-on-one and group training to improve user confidence and reduce errors.

Web Content Management (5%)

  • Maintain and update Student Affairs web content to ensure accurate, accessible forms and information for students and staff.
  • Coordinate regular reviews to maintain current and compliant materials.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (5%)

  • Serve on various college committees as appropriate.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ACTIVITIES & EQUIPMENT

Work activities routinely involve the use of personal computers, SQL (Structured Query Language) development tools, data reporting software, scanners, printers, and presentation equipment.

JOB LOCATION

This role is an on-site position located on the main campus of Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, Tennessee. Occasional travel to off-campus sites within the college’s five-county service area may be needed. Additionally, there may be requirements for travel within the state or across the United States for training and conferences.
