Job Summary

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Athens is accepting applications for the position of
Health Care Support Associate. This is a full-time, grant-funded position designed to support health
science program expansion, student success, and project development as outlined in the grant objectives.


The Health Care Support Associate will work to promote and grow health science pathways, support
student engagement, and ensure successful implementation of grant initiatives through high school
partnerships, clinical coordination, and community outreach. This role also includes managing grant
purchases and providing ongoing administrative support, including reporting and compliance with
Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) guidelines.


Salary range: $34,939 to $43,673

Job Duties

Attend college, community, and industry events to promote health science programs and grant initiatives.

• Organize and facilitate campus open houses, facility tours, and health science events.

• Expand Health Science Day to additional service areas.

• Collaborate with high schools to promote dual enrollment and Work-Based Learning (WBL) opportunities in healthcare fields.

• Meet with high school counselors, teachers, and students to explain program benefits, career pathways, and enrollment processes. • Assist with maintaining and developing clinical site partnerships.

• Support faculty and leadership in reviewing and enhancing healthcare-related curricula to align with industry needs.

• Ensure that all project outcomes, milestones, and grant objectives are met on schedule.

• Manage grant purchasing, including procurement of equipment and instructional supplies.

• Attend monthly TBR grant report meetings and other grant-related functions.

• Prepare and submit timely and accurate grant progress and financial reports.

• Provide career coaching and advising to dual enrollment and adult students considering healthcare programs.

• Support enrollment efforts for both traditional and non-traditional students, including those seeking to use Tennessee Promise or Tennessee Reconnect funding.

• Collaborate with Student Services to enhance student support and outreach efforts.

• Create or assist in developing promotional materials and press releases.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
• Technical Diploma in health sciences, education, or related field from
an accredited institution required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in customer service,
recruitment, healthcare education, or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of technical education pathways, workforce
demands in health care, and dual enrollment programming.
• Experience with grant-funded projects and purchasing processes
preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong written and oral communication skills, including public
speaking and presenting to large groups.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to
detail.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with schools,
students, staff, and healthcare partners.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with student
information systems such as SIMS or Banner a plus.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and travel
frequently within the college’s service area.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

This position requires travel to area high schools, clinical sites, and
community events.
• Occasional lifting and transport of promotional or instructional
materials may be necessary.
