This is a full-time position reporting to the Dean of Arts, Sciences, & Technologies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform secretarial duties for the School of Arts, Sciences, & Technologies.
• Serve as the primary receptionist for the School, providing courteous and accurate
information regarding curriculum, schedules, and institutional policies.
• Prepare and process adjunct contracts, faculty overload forms, and TLE reports using Banner
(Faculty Load and Compensation – FLAC).
• Maintain and update master syllabi, program documentation, and School web content in
Acalog and other platforms.
• Maintain office supplies, equipment inventory, and records in an organized and efficient
manner.
• Collect, distribute, and manage School correspondence and mail.
• Prepare requisitions, purchase orders, and check requests in accordance with college
procedures.
• Track, reconcile, and verify monthly expenditures, ensuring accuracy of budgetary charges
and resolving discrepancies in collaboration with the Dean and Business Office.
• Assist in the collection, organization, and reporting of faculty schedules, assessment data,
and accreditation documentation.
• Support the Dean and faculty with institutional effectiveness reporting, data collection for
program reviews, and advisory committee activities.
• Maintain Instructional Council documentation and curriculum changes.
• Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and accurately record and maintain meeting minutes.
• Assist in the coordination of planning and execution of program advisory committee
meetings.
• Complete travel authorizations, reservations, and reimbursements for faculty and staff in
compliance with DSCC and TBR policy.
• Support School events and presentations through preparation of materials and
communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Serve as backup for staff and faculty leave reporting and student surveys in Banner.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the daily functions and long-term goals of the
School.
• Serve on college committees and special projects as assigned.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dean of Arts, Sciences, & Technologies to
support the School’s operations and the mission of Dyersburg State Community College.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sedentary: Sedentary: Primarily office work requiring extensive use of computers, phones, and
office equipment. Travel: Occasional travel to off-campus sites or meetings may be
required. Environment: Standard office setting with minimal hazards; adequate
environmental controls to ensure comfort and safety.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to work in a team-oriented, service-focused environment.
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible clerical or administrative
experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Experience with Ellucian Banner, Argos reporting, and Acalog.
• Familiarity with higher education operations, faculty support, and budget management
processes.
Minimum starting salary is $25,800 annually ($13.23 per hour). With addition experience pay increases to a maximum of $31,00.
