Job Summary
The Smyrna Campus Coordinator reports to the President and is responsible for the coordination of campus activities at the Smyrna campus of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Murfreesboro. This position functions as liaison to internal and external audiences of the Smyrna campus.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in an educational setting with significant decision-making responsibilities.
- Demonstrated abilities in leadership, human relations, and communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Classroom experience and/or appropriate administration experience in delivery of workforce education and training.
- Evidence of successful administration experience with decision-making/supervisory responsibility in an educational environment.
- Proficient computer skills including working knowledge of network systems and Banner system.
Job Duties
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, and external stakeholders, facilitating effective communication.
- Oversee daily site operations, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with students, prospective students, faculty, staff, and others that further the college’s mission.
- Coordinate business functions with Nissan and serve as their primary liaison to enhance our partnership.
- Coordinate usage of facilities for local meetings and room reservations.
- Assist with COE accreditation activities for the college, serving as the liaison between Student Services and Instruction and Accreditation for the campus.
- Assist students with enrollment processes and provide resources for academic success.
- Maintain accurate records related to student enrollment, attendance, and program outcomes.
- Coordinate student, faculty and staff activities aligned with the Main Campus.
- Manage site resources, including facilities, equipment, and supplies to meet the needs of programs and students.
- Coordinate maintenance needs with maintenance supervisor and oversee all entities performing contracted services on campus.
- Build relationships with local businesses and community organizations to promote programs and opportunities for students.
- Work closely with faculty and administration to support curriculum development and improve the students’ overall experience.
- Prepare and present reports on program effectiveness and student progress to administration.
- Work a flexible schedule depending on campus activities.
- Other duties as assigned by the President.

- Knowledge of computer and online record systems; proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Ability to tactfully communicate with employees and the public at all levels while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to design and maintain record keeping systems.
- Ability to read and interpret policy manuals.
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of accounting and budgeting.
- Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and convincingly.
- Ability to prepare written procedures.
Physical Demands:
- Walking, bending, sitting, and squatting in order to operate campus equipment.
- Able to use body members (arms, hands, fingers), tools, or special devices to work, move, guide, or place objects.
- Communicating for lengthy periods.
- Sitting at a computer for extended periods.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the campus.
- Occasional travel required.
- Requires concentrated mental and visual attention; i.e., see at close range.
- Lifting 20 lbs.
SALARY: Salary commensurate with qualifications, education, experience and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
