The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is currently accepting applications for an Adjunct Welding/Ag Mechanics Dual Enrollment Instructor located at Munford High School. This part-time role is offered as a 10-month contract and involves a weekly commitment of 25 hours.

The successful candidate will provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom/lab, with significant emphasis on teaching and evaluating students in the classroom.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Technical degree or diploma from an accredited institution
  • Must have at least three (3) years’ experience in industry, five (5) years preferred
  • Must be proficient in Oxyacetylene cutting, Plasma cutting, Oxyacetylene Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
  • Must have knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting; farm safety regulations and practices; basic math and measurements, blueprint or technical diagram reading; and agricultural systems and operations
  • Possess communication skills necessary to be an effective instructor
  • Show evidence of good character, organizational skills, and a mature attitude
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with students, the public, community & industry partners, and other faculty and staff
  • Skilled in managing deadlines and working in a team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to utilizing technology in teaching/learning experience and willingness to stay up to date in developing instructional technologies

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction to students in all phases of the Welding and Ag Mechanics program curriculums
  • Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students' progress, maintain student records in the college's and high school’s student records management software, maintain appropriate documentation, and submit timely reports
  • Ensure compliance with all college and high school policies, accreditation standards, and dual enrollment requirements
  • Collaborate with high school personnel and college program coordinators to support student achievement and program success
  • Participate in required meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned by the President, Vice President, Lead Student Service Coordinator, Dual Enrollment Coordinator and Lead Instructor
