Job Summary

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Oneida/Huntsville is accepting applications for the position of Associate Instructor, Telecommunication and Underground Construction Technology located at the Fentress County campus. The instructor will work under the direction of the President and Vice President. A high standard of personal and professional ethics with a sincere interest in teaching and telecommunication and underground construction is desired.

Job Duties

  • Instruct students through lecture, demonstrations, simulation, and/or audio-visual aids to prepare them to enter the telecommunication and underground construction profession. - (Essential)
  • Supervise students’ telecommunication and underground construction experiences – (Essential)
  • Prepare and/or revise syllabi of courses of study with detailed lesson plans. - (Essential)
  • Administer assessments to evaluate student progress. - (Essential)
  • Maintain confidential student academic records and submit reports related to the program (i.e., grades, attendance, discipline, etc.). - (Essential)
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities to remain current in the field. – (Essential)
  • Attend meetings, day and/or evening, with program stakeholders. - (Essential)
  • Ensure compliance with all TBR, institutional, state, and federal requirements. – (Essential)

Minimum Qualifications

  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related work experience in the heavy equipment industry.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience
  • CDL licensure

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
Willingness to remain current through continued education in the occupation to be taught.
Potential ability in instruction.
Strong, moral character, mature attitude, and stable personality.
Networking skills with ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with student, staff, related business, and industry.
Time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
Self-starter; ability to work with limited supervision.
