Pay Rate: $35,340-$43,090/per year. Pay will be determined based on related work experience above required. To be considered in determining pay, all related work experience must be listed on the application.

Position Summary: The overall purpose of this position is to assist in the operation of the women’s soccer program while supporting the athletic department through sport performance programming, student-athlete development, and athlete wellness initiatives. Responsibilities include assisting with coaching, recruitment, and program operations; supporting the design, implementation, and monitoring of specific performance programs through the TeamBuildr platform; and contributing to year-round athlete readiness, injury prevention, return-to-play progression, and coordination between coaching staffs and athletic training personnel.
Essential Functions:
60% Soccer Program Management
- Serve as the assistant women’s soccer coach by supporting the head women’s soccer coach with the daily operations of administrative tasks, recruiting, organization of practice, on field duties and responsibilities, camps and fundraising.
- Assist in the care, maintenance and organization of soccer equipment used by the program and to fulfil any other duties assigned by the head women’s soccer coach
- Work closely with the head women’s soccer coach with planning and organizing travel arrangements for home and away games with hotels, buses, food orders, equipment and itineraries.
- Ability to assist in film breakdown, and opponent scout. Help develop scouting reports and management of video software uploads.
- Present for all games and scrimmages including traveling to away games.
- Assist the head women’s soccer coach with the monitoring of the women’s soccer student-athlete progress including class attendance, academic performance, personal adjustment, and financial aid management.
- Assist the head women’s soccer coach in the coordination and monitoring of student study, athletic tutoring, and classroom performance.
- Assist the head women’s soccer coach with supporting student athletes to aid placement at the University level.
- To become familiar in the usage of Pellissippi State’s programs and software's that support student-athlete development.
40% Athletic Performance & TeamBuildr Oversight
- Design and implement sport-specific training programs for assigned athletic teams.
- Upload, manage, and monitor training programs through the TeamBuildr platform.
- Adjust programming based on training phase, season demands, travel load, and competition schedule.
- Track athlete participation and compliance within TeamBuildr.
- Assist with establishing year-round athletic development models for in-season, off-season, preseason, and return-to-play phases.
- Assist with athlete workload and volume monitoring to support injury prevention strategies.
- Track training load trends and communicate concerns with coaching and athletic training staff.
- Support the implementation of functional movement screening and athlete readiness assessments.
- Implementation of return to play programming for injured student-athletes.
- Maintenance of accurate athlete performance and participation records.
- Other duties as assigned to the fulfill the College’s priorities and mission.
Job Requirements: High school diploma required. Associate’s degree preferred. NCSF certification or related strength and conditioning/sport performance credential. Soccer coaching certification through U.S. Soccer of an equivalent international federation certification
Years of Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of soccer coaching experience preferred
- Experience recruiting student athletes preferred
- Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles, injury prevention strategies, and long-term athlete development
- Experience developing and managing athletic training programs through Teambuildr or similar performance management software preferred
Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience.

Physical Demands: May work in various locations including gymnasium, weight room, and outdoors. Required to perform work of an active nature, moving around locations requiring sufficient physical stamina to carry out duties. Requires ambulatory ability to lift medium-to-heavy weight materials, balance, and walk and stand for extended periods of time. Requires visual acuity to observe moving objects and recognize physical injuries. Requires auditory ability to project voice to a small group. Lift and move light to moderately heavy (less than 50 pounds) objects.
Hazards: Regularly xposed to outdoor weather conditions (cold, wet and humid) and/hot or humid gymnasium environment(s). The employee may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens.
