Job Summary

• Conduct outreach and relationship-building with counselors, CTE directors, principals, superintendents, and other K-12 leadership to strengthen awareness of CTE programs and pathway opportunities.
• Support secondary-to-postsecondary transition planning by coordinating communication, resources, and alignment efforts among K-12 partners, postsecondary staff, and workforce stakeholders.
• Collaborate with school and district leaders to identify opportunities for improved alignment between student interests, program offerings, dual enrollment pathways, and career preparation options.
• Coordinate and support work-based learning partnerships, including internships, job shadowing, cooperative education, and other employer-connected experiences that align with CTE pathways.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen the connection between secondary CTE dual enrollment and postsecondary programs of study.
• Assist in identifying emerging labor market trends, workforce needs, and program alignment opportunities through Perkins-related research, outreach, and collaboration.
• Support outreach activities, campus visits, tours, workshops, and information sessions for school personnel and partners to promote career and technical education pathways.
• Collaborate with campus leadership and community partners to expand access, improve recruitment, and support the development of sustainable secondary-to-postsecondary CTE pipelines.
• Maintain records, contacts, and coordination efforts related to outreach, pathway development, and work-based learning activities.
• The CTE Specialist's Perkins V Reserve-funded activities will be limited to Career and Technical Education programs that have approved Early Postsecondary Opportunities (EPSOs) and are included in the approved Perkins V Reserve project. The position will not provide Perkins-funded services to programs that are not Perkins-eligible under the scope of this project.

Job Duties

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires a technical diploma

Preferred Qualifications

B.S. degree preferred
Three years of experience working in a post-secondary institution preferred
