Job Summary

The Economics Instructor is responsible for teaching economics courses in both face-to-face and online formats using the D2L Brightspace learning management system. This position requires effective course delivery, student engagement, and the use of best practices in online instruction, including audio and video learning tools within the LMS. Candidates must possess a master’s degree in economics or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Economics. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, maintain timely interactions with students, and support student success through high-quality instruction. Tennessee residency, relevant online teaching experience, and proficiency with D2L Brightspace are required.

Classes will be at various Roane State Community College locations.

Job Duties

• Teach economic courses in in-person and online format using the Learning Management System (LMS) D2L Brightspace.
• Instruction and Student Engagement.
• Assessment and Grading.
• Student Support and Communication.
• Technology and Platform Management.
• Adhere to Institutional policies and procedures. 

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in economics or master's degree with 18 graduate hours in economics.

Preferred Qualifications

To teach online, must have experience using D2L.
State of TN resident.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must be able to utilize multiple functions within the LMS (audio and video recording) and use best practices for online teaching.
Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
