POSITION SUMMARY
The Part-Time Testing Technician supports the Center for Access and Disability Services (CAADS) by coordinating and administering accommodated exams for eligible students. The position works with students, faculty, and CAADS staff to schedule exams, implement approved accommodations, maintain testing records, safeguard confidential information and testing materials, and provide an accessible and reduced-distraction testing environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Holistic Student Supports
- Coordinate accommodated testing appointments for students registered with CAADS.
- Verify approved accommodations and ensure students receive appropriate testing supports.
- Communicate with students regarding scheduling, testing procedures, expectations, and concerns.
- Maintain an accessible, respectful, and reduced-distraction testing environment.
Teaching Excellence
- Coordinate with faculty to obtain testing materials and instructions and administer paper-based, electronic, and computer-based exams accordingly.
- Monitor testing sessions and document irregularities or concerns.
- Securely return completed exams and communicate relevant concerns to faculty and CAADS staff.
Organizational Culture
- Interact with students, faculty, staff, and visitors in a professional, patient, and respectful manner.
- Collaborate with CAADS staff and campus partners to provide consistent and reliable testing services.
- Maintain the confidentiality of student information, disability-related records, exams, passwords, and testing materials.
Program Innovation
- Use scheduling systems, accommodation-management platforms, assistive technology, and other tools to coordinate accessible testing services.
- Set up and provide basic troubleshooting for assistive technology and accessible testing tools.
- Support electronic and alternative-format testing options.
- Identify opportunities to improve testing procedures, communication, documentation, and use of space.
- Complete training related to accessibility, testing technology, service delivery, and third-party proctoring requirements.
Fiscal Stewardship
- Maintain the testing calendar and coordinate the efficient use of rooms, workstations, technology, and staffing resources.
- Maintain accurate records of testing appointments, accommodations provided, cancellations, and incidents.
- Monitor testing supplies and communicate maintenance, replacement, or purchasing needs.
- Provide general administrative and office support during periods of lower testing volume.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience in an educational, administrative, testing, or student-services setting.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information with discretion, and exercise sound judgment.
- Effective interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with workplace technology and the ability to learn assistive technology and testing platforms.
- Ability to complete required third-party proctor training and obtain or maintain applicable certifications.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and extended hours during peak testing periods.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in higher education, disability services, academic testing, assessment, or student support.
- Experience administering or proctoring exams.
- Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, FERPA, and postsecondary disability accommodations.
- Experience using assistive technology, learning-management systems, electronic testing platforms, or scheduling software.
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities in an educational or accessibility-focused setting.

Physical Demands
Work is typically performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone, use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary Range: $23,640 - $27,778
