Job Summary

Reporting to the ​Assistant Vice President for Academic Program Strategies and Technologies​, the ​Assistant Dean for Engagement Initiatives​ is responsible for ​providing leadership for external partnerships, grant development, community engagement, and workforce-focused program initiatives within the Technologies Division. Areas of responsibility include overseeing grants, advisory committees, and engagement and outreach strategies. The position also assists with academic planning, budgeting, policy implementation, strategic initiatives, recordkeeping, and other duties as assigned to support divisional and institutional goals.​

Job Duties

  • ​​Coordinate with the Office of Sponsored Programs to identify and develop external funding opportunities. 

  • ​Manage grant development, implementation, and reporting processes. 

  • ​Lead division-specific outreach activities with K-12 and community partners. 

  • ​Serve as division liaison with industry partners. 

  • ​Coordinate program-specific advisory committees. 

  • ​Oversee division-specific camps and community engagement events. 

  • ​Represent the Technologies Division at community engagement activities. 

  • ​Collaborate with faculty to develop workforce-responsive credentials and educational pathways. 

  • ​Oversee division-specific apprenticeship, internship, and work-based learning opportunities. 

  • ​Assist the Assistant Vice President of Academic Program Strategies and Technologies with academic planning, policy implementation, budgeting, and strategic initiatives. 

  • ​Maintain division records germane to the division and Academic Affairs unit. 

  • ​Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.​ 

Minimum Qualifications

​​Bachelor’s degree​ from an accredited institution

Three (3) years of progressive leadership experience.

Two (2) years of grant development and management experience.

Two (2) years of community engagement or recruiting experience.

Two (2) years of community college experience.

Preferred Qualifications

​​Master’s degree​ from an accredited institution

​​More than three (3) years of progressive leadership experience.

​More than two (2) years of grant development and management experience.

​More than two (2) years of community engagement or recruiting experience.

​More than two (2) years of community college experience.​

Conversational ability or fluency in a language other than English

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

​​Knowledge of local, state and federal funding agencies and grant processes.​

Ability to communicate and interact with community and industry partners.

Knowledge and evidence of successful engagement and recruiting strategies germane to the division.

Technology Skills: MS Office suite; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems
